The Chinese Federal government is providing scholarships for South African trainees to study at Chinese organizations beginning in the 2019/20 scholastic year. The Department of College and Training is accountable for elections

The scholarship is used for undergraduate (Bachelors) in the recognized limited abilities, postgraduate (Masters or PhD) or non-degree Chinese language research studies. Bachelor’s degree scholarships are taught in
Chinese and will just be granted to candidates who currently have actually the needed level of Chinese efficiency (HSK 5 or above). Choice is provided to applications for postgraduate research studies.

Requirements and Eligibility

applications in the following fields:

— Candidates need to satisfy the minimum scholastic requirements for entry into a comparable program at a
South African university.
— Bachelor’s candidates need to have HSK 5 certificate and want to study in Chinese.

Education requirements and age limitations:

Chinese language research studies (non-degree) National Senior Citizen Certificate (or comparable) with a university entryway pass (a minimum of 70% average is advised) Under 35

Language of Direction

According to the guidelines of the Chinese Ministry of Education, all undergraduate programs for
scholarship trainees are taught through the Chinese language medium. No exceptions will be produced trainees currently in China studying in English.
Bachelor’s degree candidates thinking about pursuing a Bachelor’s degree need to have HSK Level 5 or greater.

Applicants wanting to carry out a Bachelor’s degree in China, without the needed Chinese language efficiency need to make an application for Chinese Language Research Studies just, not for the degree. They will be needed to make an application for the scholarship once again for their degree research studies upon effective conclusion of the language program. Being granted a scholarship for language research studies does not ensure that a degree scholarship will be readily available or granted the list below year.

At Master’s and PhD level, programs taught in English are qualified for the scholarship. Candidates need to determine the appropriate organization and program and send an application to the university straight, in parallel with the scholarship application.

Organizations and Programs

Scholarship candidates are needed to use straight to the organization of their option prior to getting
the scholarship. Proof of the sent application should be offered.

Applicants MUST use to a Chinese university and send evidence of application or approval letter with
their application.

All PhD candidates need to determine and reach a manager at their university of option and send evidence of this engagement with application.
