Honoring André De Shields

On June 9, 2019 we were as soon as again advised of this when we saw previous Central Scholarship recipient André De Shields win a Tony Award for his efficiency as Hermes in Hadestown.
Mr. De Shields’ history with Central Scholarship returns to 1964 when he got a scholarship from us as a senior at Baltimore City College. The scholarship allowed him to pursue his college and lead him on a course to Broadway.
