The International Women’s Health Union (IWHC) looks for a short-lived Program Officer, International Policy (maternity leave replacement) to work as part of the Advocacy and Policy Program group to affect international health policies and programs to focus on sexual and reproductive rights and health and ladies’s rights, with a concentrate on UN procedures and UN firms, such as UN Women, the UN Population Fund, and the World Health Company.

S/he will follow significant international policy efforts and firms, supply substantive input to them, and set in motion alliances to support IWHC’s positions. S/he will preserve relationships with associates and other stakeholders, have substantive understanding of problems, policies and networks, and team up carefully with other IWHC program personnel on policy work at the nationwide and local levels and in Washington DC.

Duties

Add to style and execution of total International Policy activities:

  • Supply conceptual and tactical input to and assist to execute IWHC’s technique to advance global and local dedications to thorough sexual and reproductive rights;-LRB- *************).
  • Supporter with federal governments at the UN, UN firms and the UN Secretariat;-LRB- *************).
  • Represent IWHC at the Commission on the Status of Ladies, the Commission on Population and Advancement, the High Level Political Online Forum, the High Level Fulfilling on Universal Health Protection and other conferences as required;-LRB- *************).
  • Take part in appropriate alliances and unions;-LRB- *************).
  • Conceptualize, compose, present, and release documents on chosen policy problems;-LRB- *************).
  • Maintain continuous relationships with a series of global stars;-LRB- *************).
  • Function as a resource on policy for IWHC personnel, associates and global companies;-LRB- *************).
  • Take part in IWHC’s Advocacy in Practice program in cooperation with other personnel;-LRB- *************).

Add to IWHC’s objective to promote and secure the sexual and reproductive rights and health of ladies and youths, especially teen ladies, and the total advancement and conditioning of the company:

  • As a member of the Advocacy and Policy Program Group, take part in IWHC’s tactical thinking and preparation for advancement of program instructions and efforts.
  • Add to the preparation of institutional files and publications as required.

Eligibility

This position needs a vibrant tactical thinker, strong communicator, and outstanding port with remarkable individuals and management abilities and a tested record of outcomes.

  • Bachelor’s Degree needed, masters’ degree or comparable favored;-LRB- *************).

  • Experience in advocacy, structure and preserving alliances in a collective and inclusive method, and dealing with and affecting international policy stars and multilateral bodies consisting of UN firms, donor federal governments and international leaders, chosen however not needed;-LRB- *************).
  • Level of sensitivity to gender and human rights issues driving the objective of IWHC;-LRB- *************).
  • Convenience in taking effort, teaming up and handling numerous tasks versus due dates;-LRB- *************).
