Applications are open for the Institute of Irish Research Mary McNeill Scholarship 2019 The scholarship are offered for well– certified trainees registering in the one– year MA in Irish Research Studies at the Queen’s University of Belfast in September 2019.

The MA includes an interdisciplinary core module on ‘Belfast: Location, Identity and Memory in a Contested City’. This uses a distinct intro to Irish Research studies through the research study of Belfast– Ireland’s 2nd city and the capital of Northern Ireland given that 1921– and its relationship to the remainder of the island and the broader world.

Mary McNeill, author of The life and times of Mary Ann McCracken, and a leading figure in the Irish Association, was a prominent Irish historian. This scholarship is established in her memory.
