Request the PRB/AFIDEP Policy Interaction Fellows Program 2019/2020 The Policy Interaction Fellows Program looks for to train the next generation of leaders forming policy in their nations. The program is collectively hosted by PRB and AFIDEP in Lilongwe, Malawi.

Fellows will discover, firsthand, regional advocacy concerns and policy landscapes and how to customize their research study messages to pertinent policy audiences. Fellows are mentored throughout the program on various methods to successfully interact their findings to nontechnical audiences. The Policy Fellows program is dedicated to supplying an improving, innovative experience for individuals that shows the varied and continuously developing landscape of policy and interactions.

The year-long fellowship program engages individuals through a mixed knowing method. Fellows are needed to go to a weeklong training workshop, total educational curricula online, and send tasks throughout the fellowship.

Program Information

The program has 3 parts:

Online Coursework: Throughout the yearlong fellowship, individuals will be needed to go to brief online lectures and total associated tasks to supplement the in-person training. Fellows are anticipated to sign up with one orientation webinar prior to the summertime institute, in addition to go to post-institute online lectures throughout the year.

Summer Season Institute: Individuals will go to a weeklong policy and interaction workshop concentrated on the function of research study in the policy procedure and strategies for efficient interaction of research study findings to decision-makers. At the summertime institute, individuals will communicate with PRB personnel and regional specialists active in policy research study and interaction. Throughout the training, individuals are asked to deal with their own research study information to recognize the policy significance of their findings; Fellows will discover how to draw ramifications from those findings and interact them successfully to policy audiences through a range of platforms. The date of the summertime institute will be revealed in March 2019.

Policy Interaction Projects: Throughout the 2019-2020 scholastic year, Fellows will use the abilities discovered at the workshop to prepare written tasks and an oral discussion for policy audiences, based upon their argumentation research study. Expense

  • The program will cover travel, accommodations, and daily costs for each Fellow to go to the workshop.

Eligibility

  • Open to people from establishing nations presently registered in scholastic organizations pursuing doctoral programs and who are in between their 3rd and fifth year of research studies.
