UNESCO looks for elections for the International UNESCO/Jos é Martí Reward2019 The function of the International UNESCO/Jos é Martí Reward is to promote and reward an activity of impressive benefit in accordance with the perfects and spirit of José Martí. The prizewinner will get a financial award.

José Martí was a terrific apostle and a male of action, acknowledged as the intellectual author of the freedom of Cuba. A political thinker and distinguished author, he was likewise the chief precursor of the literary motion called” modernismo”.

The International UNESCO/Jos é Martí Reward was set up in November 1994 by the Executive Board at the effort of the Federal government of Cuba. In producing the Reward, the Members of the Executive Board acknowledged the universality and supreme worth of the perfects of José Martí.

Eligibility

• Prospects will have made a considerable contribution, in any area of the world, to the unity and the combination of nations in Latin America and the Caribbean and to the conservation of their identities, cultural customs and historic worths.
• The Reward might be given upon people, organizations, other entities or non-governmental companies.
• UNESCO welcomes Members States in assessment with their Nationwide Commissions, and non-governmental companies in main collaboration with UNESCO and active in a field covered by the Reward to send elections for the Interna-tional UNESCO/Jos é Martí Reward, which will be granted for the 8th time in 2019.
